Hosting terms
These terms apply when Oclin Home AS runs a relaii Space for an organisation. If you run relaii yourself, you are covered by the ordinary terms for the website and the software licence.
Effective 29 October 2026
This is a translation of the Norwegian original. If the two differ, the Norwegian text applies.
1. The parties and the agreement
The provider is Oclin Home AS, org. no. 916 749 724, Sjukehusvegen 6A, 6103 Volda, Norway (“we”). The customer is the organisation that orders the service (“you”). The service is for businesses, associations and public bodies, not for consumers.
The agreement consists of the order as we have confirmed it in writing, these terms and the data processing agreement. In case of conflict, a separate written agreement takes precedence over the order, which takes precedence over these terms. The data processing agreement always takes precedence where personal data is concerned.
2. The service
We deliver a relaii Space on a virtual server used only by you. This includes:
- setting up the server and relaii, with your own domain or a name under
relaii.app; - installing new relaii versions within a reasonable time, and security updates to relaii and the operating system as soon as it is safe to do so;
- monitoring that the Space is available, and fixing it when it is not;
- an encrypted backup every night, stored off the server and kept for 30 days, and restoring it when you ask;
- virus scanning of uploaded files;
- push notifications through our notification service;
- support by email to hello@oclin.no on business days, answered within one business day.
Not included unless otherwise agreed: your domain and its DNS setup with your provider, an email provider for invitations and notifications, user training, the content of the Space, and integrations you build yourself.
3. Plans and capacity
The price is per Space and depends on the plan, which sets the size of the server and the file quota. The number of people given for each plan is a recommendation, not a limit. If you pass it so that the Space becomes noticeably slower, we let you know and suggest a higher plan.
The file quota is a limit. When it is reached, the Space refuses new uploads. Moving up a plan takes a short restart and applies from the next invoice period. Moving down a plan means we move the Space to a new server from a backup, at an agreed time.
4. Your responsibilities
- administering users, roles, invitations, channels and settings in the Space, and keeping the administrator accounts secure;
- the content shared in the Space, and that its use is lawful and in line with your own rules;
- deciding which servers you connect to and which channels you share, since content in a shared channel is also held by the other party;
- informing users about the processing of personal data, as the controller;
- telling us without delay if you suspect the Space has been compromised.
The Space must not be used to send spam or malware, share unlawful content, or attack or overload other systems. In case of a serious breach, we may suspend access temporarily. We notify you first where possible.
5. Availability and maintenance
We do our best to keep the Space available around the clock, but give no uptime guarantee without a separate service level agreement. We give at least two business days’ notice of planned maintenance that causes downtime, and prefer to do it outside working hours. Critical security updates may be installed without notice.
6. Price and payment
The price is the one in the order confirmation, excluding VAT. We invoice monthly or yearly in advance, with 14 days’ payment terms, and can send EHF. Late payment interest follows the Norwegian Late Payment Interest Act (forsinkelsesrenteloven). If an invoice is more than 30 days overdue after a written reminder, we may suspend access until it is paid. The data is not deleted for that reason.
We give written notice of price changes at least two months before they apply. Terms for pilot customers are agreed in writing in the order.
7. Term and cancellation
The agreement runs until it is cancelled. You can cancel with one month’s notice to the end of a paid period. We can cancel with three months’ notice. Fees already paid for an unused period are not refunded, unless we cancel or the agreement is terminated because of our breach. Either party may terminate the agreement for a material breach that has not been remedied within 30 days of written notice.
8. Your data, and when the agreement ends
The content of the Space belongs to you. You can ask for a full
backup with a passphrase at any time. It can be restored on another
server with relaii restore.
When the agreement ends, we give you such a copy if you ask before the end date. We then delete the server within 30 days. Backups are deleted as they become older than 30 days, so everything is gone no later than 60 days after the end date. We keep only what accounting rules require, such as invoices.
9. Personal data
For the content and accounts in the Space, you are the controller and we are the processor. This is governed by the data processing agreement. For contact persons, invoicing and correspondence with you, we are the controller, as described in the privacy policy.
10. The software
relaii is free software under the GNU Affero General Public License (AGPL-3.0-or-later). The agreement gives you no rights to the software beyond the licence, nor does it limit what the licence gives you. You can run relaii yourself at any time.
11. Liability
Our total liability under the agreement is limited to the fees you have paid for the 12 months before the damage occurred. Neither party is liable for indirect loss, such as lost profit or business interruption. These limits do not apply in cases of intent or gross negligence.
Neither party is liable for circumstances beyond its control that it could not reasonably have foreseen or avoided, such as widespread failure at data centre or network providers, war or natural disasters.
12. Changes to the terms
We give written notice of material changes at least 30 days before they apply. If a change is to your disadvantage, you can cancel the agreement with effect from the day the change comes into force.
13. Governing law and disputes
The agreement is governed by Norwegian law. The parties will first try to resolve a dispute through negotiation. If that fails, it is settled by the ordinary courts, with the court for Oclin Home AS’s registered office as the agreed venue.
Questions about the terms can be sent to hello@oclin.no.
